Russian scientist Sergei Savelnikov is invited to assist his Indian collague Amrita Desai in solving the mystery of an ancient submerged city beneath the Gulf of Cambay. Meanwhile, Finnish inventor Kari Alanen is developing his own solution to the problem of melting glaciers. In Greenland, Susan Cheng’s glacier research suddenly takes a dangerous turn.

The separate lines of research start to converge unexpectedly, and the scientists realize that the melting glaciers are becoming catastrophically unstable. The Sands of Sarasvati is based on the book of the same name by esteemed Finnish novelist, science journalist and enviromental activist Risto Isomäki.
